Ateneo Recweek 2010 : Diverse City

It’s recruitment week again in Ateneo and the peepz in COA named it Diverse City. Above is the Recweek’s promotional poster. I am not yet decided which new orgs to join this year. Of course, I’ll joing AECES, my home org. BUT I also want to go back to Gabay, the org of scholars, and see whether I can fit in this time. Another interesting org is DSWS where most of the members are CoE people. 😀

Join your preferred orgs from June 28-July 2 at MVP Roofdeck. 😀

Recent

RECENTLY~!

Ateneo obtained their first loss from UP! How amazing was that? I did not watch the game but I heard that the shift in substitutions was the very big mistake that killed Ateneo’s winning streak. Hehehehehe~! My cousin’s son should be laughing like hell now. 😀

I’m not a very big fan of UAAP, actually. When Ateneo wins, I cheer up. When they lose, I don’t care. 😀 Look at my school’s pride. It corroded as fast as electricity. 😀

Oh yeah, it’s the president’s SONA today and I’m staying at home because they suspended the classes. Traffic is a big problem when going to school because they switched the traffic to one main lane instead of using the usual two-lane scheme. There are quite a lot of rallyists when I saw the newsbreak. Can’t wait to see what will happen in the Congress. 😀

iCampus : Ateneo’s MAC Store

I was strolling around the campus and then I went to Loyola Bookstore inside MVP building. Then I saw this:iCampus

Welcome to Ateneo de Manila’s in-campus MAC Store! If some of you know the fact that Apple is trying to cooperate with universities in the US to sell their products, this one here is basically the same. I’ve also heard that Apple also tried to sell their products in Ateneo before at a cheaper price.

So what’s the purpose of this store inside Loyola Bookstore? Maybe the products sport the same prices in other Power Mac Stores! Oh no, you are wrong. Like I said, Apple is in pursuit of helping students to get a computer at a cheaper price, a decent one of course. The store here is selling cheaper Macbooks and not just Macbooks but also iPod products, Apple accessories and other third party accessories. If I remember it correctly, this are (or rather estimated) prices in-store:

iPod Shuffle – ***Forgot the price!!*** but they’re selling the 4GB unit in black and in silver

iPod Nano – 8 GB – 7.3k PhP(from 9.5k PhP)

iPod Nano – 16GB – P 9825 (from 12K)

iPod Touch – 8 GB – 11K, 16GB- 14K, 32GB- 19K

MacBook White (2.0GHz dual core 120 GB HDD) @ 51K from 56K

Macbook (2.0 GHz 160GB HDD 2 GB ram) @ 65.4K from 72K

MacBook (2.4 GHz 250GB HDD 2 GB ram) @ 78.1K from 89K

So to those Mac enthusiasts, no need to go to a Power mac Store to buy stuff. We have one at campus. 😀 and take note, they are Apple themselves. This is not a hired store from GH. This is really Apple, this is really iCampus. 😀

AECES and ECE Blocks Table Tennis Craze

opampaecesI’m having Table Tennis as my Physical Education class this semester and I’ve just discovered that the ECE blocks are recently playing table tennis during free time. I also heard of the tournament of AECES which was already done last Saturday. I was hating PE because it makes me more disappointed due to my placement in group A, where bad ass players are placed too. However, playing with ECE coursemates was much more fun than PE. 😀 Playing this sport them was really exciting and fun.

Ateneo these past few days.

Yup, two weeks at full rate of work. Actually not full rate but I felt nice as I gave quite an effort to give everything a big shot. It was not like before that after exams, I feel bad. This time, I felt quite relieved. It was a very nice feeling. Now, with an upcoming exam on Electronics again, I think I should study and put effort on it. That exam will end my two hell weeks and I will be able to relax more.

The latest post I had was the Q-steer tutorial. I want to make more tutorials but because I’m busy, I cannot give too much effort on it. Talking about social life….. my social life’s dead. Hahahah! I mean I’m not fond of going out always, eating out with friends. Probably because of being conservative…. ooorr maybe I don’t like spending too much.I like staying at home, doing some weird stuff like making tinola noodles out of lucky me instants. What a boring life, isn’t it? However I do feel comfortable with this setting.

Maybe I’ll try to get more Q-steer ideas or other hobby ideas when Hell week’s done. 😀

2nd year, 1st sem Finals – DAY 1

For day 1, it was ELC 101.1 fifth long exam and it was fine. But I don’t know if I will be able to push my grade up. It’s already fine, I’m far from failing but I still want a better grade. I just hope that I will get a higher grade this time to put my grade one puny notch up.

It’s raining hard that time and I don’t even have my umbrella. Too bad, fever waves its hand to me again. Ish

Tomorrow will be my math 21 exam.  Good luck to me~!

Ateneo De Manila University – UAAP Basketball Champion~!

Ateneo has recently claimed the championship in seniors basketball. It was a great championship because the juniors were also able to get the title. Anyway, it was the first time in my ateneo life to experience the championship that our school took. I thought that I would never experience a school championship in my whole stay here in the ateneo but the Ateneo team proved me wrong. My older brother who graduated in 2005 have experienced the previous championship taken by Ateneo and that was the only championship in his whole stay in the university. I was hoping that our university will still be a champion next year and for the coming years. Although the championship shirt was quite expensive but still, school spirit was high! There will be a bonfire as means of celebrating the good year of Ateneo in UAAP. It will surely be fun.

Ateneo and more stuff~!

There’s quite a lot of things that happened recently and most of them really killed me down. There’s this series of unfortunate [long exams and midterms] then a couple of projects to finish. Still, that didn’t stop me to write something.

Recently, I wrote something about the Popsloader with the firmware dumper and stuff and my temporary gateway drug became available again. There’s another game that made me interested about it which was Splinter Cell Essentials. I’ve been always a big fan of Tom Clancy and his games, not books. I like the silent walking stuff with visibility and audio considerations and more! Although all of these things were halted by my college life.

Ateneo, it’s where I’m taking my Electronics and Communications Engineering degree. It’s a very nice place, very nice environment and all the good stuff you can think about. Recently, the org where I signed up which is “GABAY” had it’s birthday celebration last Friday but I wasn’t able to go because my brain was worn down by the Math Midterms. I also want to rest from the tests and all other stuff but the other stuff cannot be avoided now because they are so many and they’re coming in a fast pace. I need to kill them down one by one.

Anyway, I just like to write anything here, it makes me feel a lot better when I write stuff. I guess I’ll head back to work.
