Nokia 5800 XpressMusic Review

This review is pretty much a personal opinion and observation but nevertheless, there might be some stuff that you may find interesting. I’m a gadgeteer and whenever I get something new, I always blog about it. Except that I was really busy with my academics that I did not have any enough time to write about it. But! I have it here now, and it’s my new phone, the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic:

My desire is going back

I stumbled on this while browsing through TAMIYA’s Japanese website:

I actually cannot afford this hobby but I’d be happy just to get one. YES! Just one unit and that would be fine. After getting one, I’ll focus on tuning. XD But to get it, I have to shave off Php 15,000 at least.

I already stopped dreaming about this expensive 1/10 scale Radio Controlled car but when this drift version of the Nissan GT-R came out, I suddenly want to get one. Especially it comes in Gun Metal Gray Color.. 😀 If only I can just get one. Just the car itself first since this comes in bits and pieces, doesn’t come as an RTR (Ready-To-Run). I really like to get one. Hohoho! This car then must cost at around Php 6K so I think I should start saving now if I still want to get this before I graduate. It’s gonna be a long term project, though. 😀

Nissan Dealership Diorama Project – Test Vehicle shots. :D

It’s been a while since I’ve focused on a hobby. Yes, I picked a new one and it’s building small-scale replicas of buildings called dioramas. I decided to build a Nissan Dealership and therefore required Nissan vehicles. The first vehicle I bought, just to see whether the scale can accomodate the market-sold car replicas, was the Nissan GT-R. 😀

As you can see, it’s far larger than the Q-steer/Choro-Q. Plus the Q-steer looks as if it’s not as serious wherein taking a Tomica would make the dealership look more realistic. The detail is also quite good despite being a Tomica on par with the matchbox and hotwheels. It’s not one of those Tomica Limited Versions that had better detailing but this cheapest line is still awesome as the important details are retained. Such as that GT-R logo on the grille.

I’m planning to get the Nissan Elgrand as well as the Nissan 370Z for the showroom area. Then I might get another set of those cars, preferably more GT-Rs and have them repainted. 😀

I’m a Tomica Collector when I was a kid and I know how nice it is to get it in this kind of packaging compared to the other competitors. It just looks rewarding. 😀

LSAT – Start of Activities:Confirmation and Sign-Ups week

This is what you can see when my phone’s at standby:
See the calendar entries? Yes, a long test and the membership confirmation and membership recruitment for LSAT. Right now, I’m really at a tight pinch and I hope everything planned shall go as planned. Here’s the phone’s calendar:

yes, nothing much but the same entries that appeared in standby. But try to look at the calendar itself. almost all days have tags on them, meaning I have almost non-stop work until this semester ends. Good thing this phone comes in handy. 😀

LSAT – Team Captain Days 1-2

Man, this is actually tough. I never thought that being a captain for a team of assessors, assisting students through their registration with the Registration Committee, was soooooooo tiring. It’s not tiring in the sense that I get stressed out by long nights of working. I get more stress by just looking at the things to be remembered and done. Not that those things take a long term to be finished but they are so many to remember and people from the Registrar’s Office as well as RegCom keep on bothering what used to be my usual routine of being just a head of one of the teams. Honestly, I still cannot get myself together. My body is not yet recognizing this new role of mine as a team captain.

To compensate for this, I got myself a handy thick notebook where I can write all things I need to do. Plus, this role led to the full utilization of my new phone’s calendar. So now, my calendar is jam-packed compared to last year’s…..empty calendar. I don’t use my phone’s calendar, only now.

SO my first day as a Team Captain started when the Former Team Captain contacted me as anytime soon, the RO would try to reach me regarding the upcoming registration. And her prediction was quite right. Just after she texted the date of “TEAM CAPTAIN ORIENTATION”, the secretary of the Registrar was clever enough to send me the details via Chikka. MEEEHHNN, talk about people being immersed in latest communication technology…. So I went to meet the Registrar, who was surprisingly a cheerful person. And so he reminded me to get my team ready for the upcoming registration, gave the numbers of the important people in Regcom, including his, and told me to coordinate with them with regards to the activities to be done on the registration week. I was with the Team’s Secretary General and I was thankful for that because he would be able to hear the things I might be able to forget since my mind is not yet set for this. Although, I’m striving hard and working on it.

Second day, the Assessment Supervisor came to meet me and thank God, she was able to give me immediately the date of the Dry Run for Summer Reg. 😀 Which was nice because for the past few registration periods, the dry run dates are always late which leaves the assessors unprepared and set their priorities before the registration. She also asked me how things are going on during dry run and so I told her everything I know about it. Then I set off to temporarily tell my fellow heads to prepare. Although I forgot that it was the GA of the org wherein most of the heads are members. And so the emergency meeting was postponed but I just posted the things I have on the groups.

Man, I can’t believe I’m doing all of these things. Nevertheless I have to meet this challenge. This would probably be the start of one of the things I would surely cherish in my entire college life. 😀
