Choro-Q Light mod – Evo 7 paint jobs. :D

evomod08This is just a light modification so I won’t let it have a major page on my blog. 😀 Here’s how the car looked after the mod.

evoq1Yep, I modified the back with several paint jobs to make it look like it sports a small diffuser and spoiler as well as the tail lights look like evo 9’s.

Q-steer Photoshoot – Improvised White BG Studio. :D

groupI’ve been crazy about the silly light box but even though there are tutorials about its simple construction, I cannot put my money into it. I do have the camera and the light but not the peripherals to concentrate the light to the subject. 😀 However, I received a brighter lamp and tested this kind of photoshoot using scratch papers. 😀 The result is a semi-dark or a bit underexposed despite setting the camera to Aperture-priority and then setting the exposure to +1. The resulting photos were bluish since it’s dark time already and the only thing lighting up the subjects is the bright study lamp. Despite these instances, I brought up another paper facing the camera side to focus the light to the center. After shooting the pictures, I edited them using Adobe Photoshop, adjusting the color balance, brightness and contrast. Here are the results:

Looks nice, for me. 😀

Fiddling with Photoshop

The header is already an example. 😀 😀
By the way, I now have a new header and I made it! The previous one was made by my brother, credits to him. I still have the old header. I want to retain it but it says “2008” and I cannot see the PSD file around so I have to change it since it’s 2009 already.

I’m fiddling with Adobe Photoshop for a while now and I’ve learned a lot from the basics that my brother taught me before. Now I am making designs that are quite difficult to understand (for me) from the tutorials present in the intarwebz. My favorite now are silhouettes. 😀 (as you can see from the header). But it is not a simple silhouette like black shadows, the typical ones. I was fascinated by the silhouette design used for the game “Burnout Paradise”. 😀 Now, I’m making several ones, similar to Burnout’s design. It may not be exactly the same as I am using captured images while the design in Burnout seemed to be made directly from the computer. (Weird, I can’t seem to put it in better words.) Anyhoo, here are the designs I made so far:

Q-steer plans after midterms.

_mg_8705I want to fiddle again with my cars in the garage but this time I want to go deeper. 😀 A friend of mine gave me two new cars, a Nissan Skyline Coupe V36 and Mazda RX-7 Spirit R:

_mg_8679He gave it to me with a request to make at least one of them be a snap-on-snap-off body for Q-steer. I inspected both cars if I can do the job but it seems to be a big problem for the V36 since there’s a lot of space at the front. For the Rx-7, however, it may be possible so I tried opening the body and realized that the front skirt or splitter is on the chassis insteat of the body. Rawr.

untitled-1It seems to be a great challenge. I think I will take the modification one notch up. I’ll try to mingle with putty and other molding stuff to get the body to the Q-steer Chassis. Hehehe~!

_mg_8697I will also try to fiddle with the circuit board which include the soldering of LED’s and other electronics stuff. I’ve had workshop skills training from my course and I guess you’ll just need basic soldering skills. 😀 Hope everything goes well in the project.

New Q-steer released~!

These are now released internationally and now available at online stores. HLJ.com is now selling the QSRS series, the two Super GT GT-Rs and a new One Mat Circuit Xanavi Nismo GT-R.

Choro-Q body conversion guide I – Snap on Qsteer Body

This is the easiest part of converting a Choro-Q body into a compatible Q-steer body.

My first tutorial on how to convert Choro-Q body for Q-steer.

New Q-steer Stuff!

I saw this in the internet as well as in Takara-Tomy’s online catalog. Remember my post regarding the rumors about Lancer Evolution X Qsteer? It was actually true. Most of the cars that rumored to be produced were released in Japan first and they don’t put it in their online catalog immediately. Nevertheless, the pictures of the new cars that came in are here with me. The pictures were courtesy of HobbyLinkJapan. 😀

Then another came up but this time it is not yet in the online catalog. A two Q-steer pack Motul Pitwork and Calsonic GT-R

[QSH-05] Q-steer Toyota Sprinter Trueno (Red two-tone cf-hood)

At last~! I now have time to write a review for this. This Q-steer unit belongs to the QSH series where the package comes with the car, an IR remote and an upgrade part. This is QSH-05 Toyota Sprinter Trueno [AE86]

More Q-steer stuff

While drooling on the new QSH-06 Nissan GT-R, I stumbled on another Q-steer package~!

Yup, it’s coded as QSH-07 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X. I’ve already decided to modify a body for one of my chassis but if this is about to come out, I think i should save more money. Yes, it’s just a rumor yet, no formal news have come out just like the Nissan GT-R. Although the difference is that the QSH-06 is already posted on Q-steer’s mobile website. I still don’t know when I will be able to get these two cars. I’ve already got this:

The red Toyota Sprinter Trueno, QSH-05. It seems that the recent QSH models have Drift tires instead of tuned motors and cogs. Anyway, I’m still waiting for the two cars to come on to the stores in Greenhills. It will be a nice shopping day, if ever. :d
