Even I cannot believe how far this team has reached. Despite the tragic loss for us and also Regcom, we are still intact and still serving for the university. When I look at this picture, it’s like a Formula 1 team’s pictorial after winning this year’s world championship. It is that successful and I cannot ask more from them as they’ve done a wonderful job. 😀
This is the only time we’ve managed to capture memories, only this second semester registration and the last LSAT duty for some of my team heads. And so we’ve decided to think outside of the box and get something for the whole team that would make them feel so special. I think this is needed because of the loss of one of our privileges and the threat of mass resignation and difficulty in recruitment is very apparent. And so we thought of lotsa things to offer to our team that would, not only let them stay in the team, but make them feel special. The shirt was never meant for an LSAT member to wear but I think there’s nothing wrong with wearing a uniform for the whole team, even just for one day.
LSAT-SOH Team
LSAT-SOSS Team
LSAT-SOSE Team
LSAT-SOM Team
LSAT-GRAD Team
And the uniform was designed by my brother, Mark Parrenas, who had the graphics and the idea for the shirt. I actually forced him to do the shirt on the spot and I think the shirt design was simple enough. We were thinking of putting the design on a collared shirt but that might be too much for now, especially that the idea of the shirt was also rushed.
There were a lot of fun memories during the Summer, First and Second Registration periods. But there were only few pictures captured or maybe there are no moments captured at all. This second semester, I managed to borrow the Panasonic LX3 from my brother and did some capturing myself.
I especially like the assessors assigned for buffering as I cannot remember where I heard it but they were called “Powerbuff girls”. 😀 In fact, they are the buffers of SOM Team since the start of AY 2010-2011.
And of course, when cameras roam, there would always be people who has the instincts to notice the shot, no matter how ninja-ish the camera man is.
…and when talking about ninja-ish shots, random shots just suddenly appear in your camera…
Of course, stray shots showing how good I am being their team captain. Check out the hat, as it was the first time to be done by an LSAT Team Captain. Pasaway. xD I even have to break out the Mickey Mouse handgloves as well as Stitch’s hand. I was even planning to dress up like Luigi of the Mario game series but I did not have the plain green cap.
OH! One of the greatest memories of this registration was that my team (GRAD) ate KFC for lunch during the whole GRAD reg period. Then on the last day, I gave them a treat, still on KFC. 😀 KFC was the nearest fastfood in our location. We also send some people there instead of using the fastfoods’ online and telephone delivery system as they are big failures.
and of course, no moment-capturing would end up without this:
TO THE LSAT CORE GROUP, it was fun having you as the team heads and assistant team heads. Even if we had to make major major major adjustments to cope with the changes in the team, we still managed to get out of the problems we encountered. Also, we still manage to have fun despite all of the hectic schedule and mind-killing stuff.
From the start wherein ideas started flowing in but still in doubt of implementing, until the period wherein everything kicked in and put into place, it was fun. All of the plans became true, from the ridiculous but successful Nametag design contest, to the epic Team buildings and to the LSAT Shirt. We have established that we are the most deviant Core group ever to exist, the most wacky, the craziest and probably the most lenient. BUT LOOK, we’ve managed to keep the team intact without degrading our performance.
Then we managed to capture all of these moments. It was just a plan, not even written on paper but it became true and it was also successful. I also want to thank my good o’ connection to the CAO, who was tough enough to shoulder the problems during our darkest times in GRAD without the representative from CAO.
In fact, he was not able to join the group pic, even if he had the shirt so we decided to give him this self-portrait as a tribute to his epic work and dedication. 😀 Also, something like this, where he is involved, cannot be ignored:
Makes me laugh everytime I see this image.:D
I would also like to thank Regcom, for persevering even until now. From my side, I can say all day that we give university service during registration but no other team gives the best university service during registration than Regcom. Regcom is epic, as they still manage to work at performance level with little number of people. I can’t recall how many they are but after that tragic removal of the privilege we share, it really gave a them a blow. And now they are undermanned, I think they are amazing. Persevering through persistent and irritating students who force their preferences and listen tiringly on stressful voices of secretaries of each department, no other group does it the way they do. I actually asked one of the Regcom peeps, “why not appeal for the return of the early enlistment?” I’ve been asking the registrar about it for so long and I don’t think it’ll come back. BUT maybe, for Regcom to make an official appeal, things might shift its course in favor of them, then recruitment will not be a problem. All they have to do (and also us, if we will be part of it) is simply change the policies for membership. Because if policies are correct, recruitment would not be so often but the members retained are those who are worthy of having the privilege. If only we can help Regcom in any way with this problem, I wouldn’t mind sending fellow LSAT peeps into their positions to help.
To the whole LSAT, thank you for making this team successful. You made your Core group proud. And to the Core group, congrats to those who will graduate and to those who will not, help me to do better this second term of mine. Unless of course, the secgen will finally assume the position. 😀 Nevertheless, thank you very much and see you next registration and the start of my final flight. The other core members departed already and I still have one job left to do before following them, to be the undisputed wacky team captain of all. 😀
