Remembering Mazda RX-8 – Review

Did you know why the Nokia 6630 can perform 3G operations?

Yes, we all know that Nokia 6630 isn’t a 3G phone at the start but if you look deep into it, the phone’s performance is shocking. I hope you already know what 3G means. One good feature of this technology is that you can stream live videos to your phone. For instance, in the Philippines, Globe Telecom has offered several services for 3G phone users like the streaming of 2 top local tv channels there. They’re offering it to subscribers with 3G capabilities for free. Yet, 3G phones are still expensive as we know and when you get one, you obtain certain features such as a secondary 0.3 megapixal camera at the front and sometimes the amazing Wi-Fi feature, which lets you use internet wirelessly anywhere you want. Sheesh, for people like me who’s interested to things like that, I wanted one, too. Anyway, about the Nokia 6630, most people say it’s 3G, some say not. Why is it those people say it has 3G? Let me set a comparison unit. TheNokia N70, for instance, is a 3G phone. Obviously because it has a second camera at the front. If I were to look at it, 3G goes with the phone’s internet capabilities and performace, GPRS and bandwith. Streaming is also part of the phone’s modem at network capacity. So, I’ll show you everything about the N70’s network performace:

Operating frequency

  • Dual mode WCDMA/GSM and triband GSM coverage on up to five continents (GSM 900/1800/1900 and WCDMA 2100 networks)
  • Automatic switching between bands and modes

Browsing

  • WAP 2.0 XHTML/HTML multimode browser
  • Improved Web compatibility with support for HTML 4.01, including support for elements such as image maps, background images, and frames
  • Support for a subset of JavaScript 1.5, which includes the most commonly used functions found on the Internet
  • File upload over HTTP using standard HTML forms
  • Small screen rendering option including a faster page-up/page-down scrolling style
  • Full- screen mode, download progress bar, and adaptive history list
  • 3GPP video streaming
  • OMA DRM 1.0 – including forward lock for content protection, combined delivery, separate delivery and superdistribution

Data Transfer

  • WCDMA 2100 with simultaneous voice and packet data (PS max speed UL/DL= 128/384kbps, CS max speed 64kpbs)
  • EGPRS, class B, multislot class 10 (UL/DL = 118.4/236.8 kbps)*
  • GPRS, class B, multislot class 10
  • Speech codecs: FR, EFR, WCDMA, and GSM AMR
  • Transfer data from one S60 device to another

Now, I’ll show why 6630 performs at 3G, except the video conference die to lack of features:

Powerful Connectivity on the Go

Powerful Connectivity on the Go
  • Faster connectivity and high-speed browsing with WCDMA and EDGE* technologies
  • Access email accounts whether work or personal (supports SMTP, POP3, and IMAP4 protocols)
  • Advanced PIM (calendar, contacts, task list etc) to help you stay in touch
  • Document viewers – Quickword, Quicksheet and Quickpoint
  • Pop-Portâ„¢, interface with USB cable
  • Develop customized applications to suit your unique corporate systems using Software Development Kit (SDK), available for Java and Symbian (C++)

Global Roaming

Global Roaming
  • Global roaming enabled; works as WCDMA*/ GSM dual mode phone in Asia-Pacific and Europe areas; GSM/ EDGE in Americas; WCDMA in Japan (Requires operator roaming support)

Browsing

  • Improved web compatibility with support for HTML 4.01, including support for elements such as image maps, background images, and frames
  • OMA 2.1 compliant xHTML browser with improved internet capability
  • OMA DRM 1.0 combined and separate delivery

NYAHAHAHAH! that’s right! both carry dual-mode WCDMA/GSM and all browsers perform the same. So you see, N6630 can perform 3G, except that it cannot do video conferencing but DL speed and everything is par with the real 3G phones. Nokia 6630 is something that should be recognized. It’s what I call a “rare breed”

It’s been a long time…

A lot of things happened after that very last post of mine. A very sad event happened that led to a loss of something important and let me shut for a long time. That event really tested my faith to God. I’m kidding, really, I think it’s God who let that happen. My phone was stolen, the Nokia 6230i. I left a couple of memories, or should I say I lost them. HAAAAAAY! MY LORD!!! Back to my good ‘ol friend Nokia 3300.

To make things fit after that horrible event, I’ll be setting some changes around, like removing the screen feature, for instance. I’ll be including the vids in every post that I’ll make about it. Right now, I’m still thinking of other things to say…

1/100 Aile Strike Gundam – Master Grade – 1st entry!

I was into Gundam model kits before but I stopped. It’s a long story for you to know. Now, after my good’ol brother had bought his Gundam RX-78-2 One year war version, I want tome the Gundam generation. It was the Gundam Wing series that became famous by the time I bought my models and eventually end up destroyinh all of them because I cannot find a good place to display them. The Gundam model that my brother bought was carefully painted. It was good because of the model’s grade. Master grade gundams are one step lower than the very best grade, which is the perfect grade. Master grade ones perform nearly as good as the perfect grade. Master grade, of course, more articulate than the lower grades. It carries more features as well, like opening cockpits and more. The gundam in interest now is the Master grade 1/100 scale Aile strike Gundam, from the new Gundam seed series. That’s what I can tell you now, I’ll tell more later when I have more time. Here’s the picture of the model when it is finished, including painting.

Holloween at Toy Kingdom

I went to Toy Kingdom at SM fairview lately and I was surprised of what I saw. It was not expected for Toy Kingdom to have a trick or treat event. So, maybe Toy Kingdom was the reason for making most of the kids around go look like the vocalist of My Chemical Romance, large eye bugs scary outfits. Check out the pics I got. Although some are blurry.

Even the employees feel the scary season.

What’s that big chess piece doing there?
