iCampus : Ateneo’s MAC Store

I was strolling around the campus and then I went to Loyola Bookstore inside MVP building. Then I saw this:iCampus

Welcome to Ateneo de Manila’s in-campus MAC Store! If some of you know the fact that Apple is trying to cooperate with universities in the US to sell their products, this one here is basically the same. I’ve also heard that Apple also tried to sell their products in Ateneo before at a cheaper price.

So what’s the purpose of this store inside Loyola Bookstore? Maybe the products sport the same prices in other Power Mac Stores! Oh no, you are wrong. Like I said, Apple is in pursuit of helping students to get a computer at a cheaper price, a decent one of course. The store here is selling cheaper Macbooks and not just Macbooks but also iPod products, Apple accessories and other third party accessories. If I remember it correctly, this are (or rather estimated) prices in-store:

iPod Shuffle – ***Forgot the price!!*** but they’re selling the 4GB unit in black and in silver

iPod Nano – 8 GB – 7.3k PhP(from 9.5k PhP)

iPod Nano – 16GB – P 9825 (from 12K)

iPod Touch – 8 GB – 11K, 16GB- 14K, 32GB- 19K

MacBook White (2.0GHz dual core 120 GB HDD) @ 51K from 56K

Macbook (2.0 GHz 160GB HDD 2 GB ram) @ 65.4K from 72K

MacBook (2.4 GHz 250GB HDD 2 GB ram) @ 78.1K from 89K

So to those Mac enthusiasts, no need to go to a Power mac Store to buy stuff. We have one at campus. πŸ˜€ and take note, they are Apple themselves. This is not a hired store from GH. This is really Apple, this is really iCampus. πŸ˜€

Apple has always been known to collaborate with schools with regards to selling their stuff. Good to know that Ateneo’s involved with them now.

Do they sell computer mouses (mice? haha) there? As in the Apple Mighty Mouse? I can check tomorrow when I go, but I might not pass by LS. Haha. Thanks!

Can students/ alumni from other universities purchase in the said shop?

I think Alumni can purchase there. If ever alumni are allowed, I think it’s strictly for the alumni and not for his friends, family or other connections… I don’t know much about it. :D:D:D:D

Hi! I’m an atenean.Grade 7 now turning 1st year high school, just graduated.Do i need to present my grade 7 id to avail the discount? and am i still allowed to get the discount? I’m planning to buy an iPod shuffle as a replacement for my iPod nano(got flooded during ondoy).

Just a 1 last question. Can i get both discount when i also buy accessories for my iPod touch 4th Gen.? like there’s discount for iPod Shuffle + Apple Earphones with Remote and mic.

    Hello!

I haven’t asked much about who can avail the discounts. If I remember it correctly, only Loyola Schools Students, meaning the college peeps, can avail the discount. But just to be sure, you can go there and ask. They’d usually ask for an Atenean ID.

All of the Apple Products there, if I’m correct, are discounted. The aftermarket accessories, like the non-apple earphones and so on, are not discounted. πŸ˜€

hi how long does it take an acer laptap unit to be delivered to your store? I have given a down of 2k last march23, 2012 a teacher of admu.

    • 14 lifedrive April 3, 2012 at 3:31 pm

Ah, Ma’am they should’ve told you when the unit will come. It really depends on them when they will be able to deliver the unit. For example, a family friend had requested for me to buy a Macbook and the store was able to deliver the unit about two to three weeks but that was mentioned by the iCampus store which means it all depends on the store itself. The store that delivers Acer units is a different store and should’ve mentioned to you the details of the unit’s delivery. If there’s a chance, I will ask the store, probably after holy week. πŸ˜€
