The Cherished Last Moment

Yeah, it was a good weekender, I guess. I went to Trinoma to meet my friend, just to spend some time with her. It’s been a long time since I’ve planned to do this since she was not allowed to go out of the house or simply go out with me during the time when communications were not yet a problem. And so it pushed through. I met her having an ic cream cone on her hand saying that I came late and she was starting to feel hungry. She showed me first around, pointing me the pair of shoes she wanted to get. She even got around and looked for more but before she showed me all of those preferences, I told her that I haven’t eaten lunch because of my schedule and so we ate. I dragged her to Taco Bell because it’s been a while since I’ve experienced that glorious bottomless soda they serve there. After eating, we went straight looking for her pair of shoes. She went first to Crossings and did not see any. She also asked what looked good for her and I told her that if I were to ask, I’d prefer a simple, black or gray, semi-gloss or matte-finish pair and it’s up to her how high the heels would be. So we went back to the store she showed me earlier, trying to fit the shoe she looked before. She asked me if I liked it and I said, it’s fine as it is simple looking. Then she told me her mom and I have the same taste, if I heard it correctly or heard it at all. My reaction was….really? :D The pair was then tested and one of the shoes did not close well and I told her that it wouldn’t fit because she’s got fat. Hahahah~! even the store attendant laughed. Eventually it fitted her well and bought the pair. We were planning to go around more but I looked at the time and said to her that if she needs to be at home before 7pm, we have to line up to the FX terminal. So we went out and lined up to go home.

Most of the time, she puts her hand at my back while walking around. I thought… we never really had those close moments before. So during the last minutes inside the mall, I took her arm and wrapped it around mine. Also, while in the FX, she made me place an earphone to my ear and asked me if I heard few of the songs she liked. All of them I said no, since I only listen mostly to instrumentals. But I did not really mind wearing the earphone so I was listening to what she’s listening while going home.

The most interesting part, and the most memorable, was when she took my hand and held it for the rest of the trip. And it made me wonder, when was the last time I held her hand? The last time was that stupid decision…and it was the only time I got her hand. So I guess it’s a moment cherished for her, and it was, when I asked her what was her memorable event. For me, it was also. This time, it was her who took my hand, squeezing lightly each finger and my palm, probably cherishing that, probably, the very last time we will take each other’s hands. And, as the dropping point came, she squeezed my hand a bit harder, to wake me up a bit and tell we’re about to get off.

I took her home and told her, “Now, there’s no more reason for you to say that we did not go out together. :D “. Take note, it was just once and no more strings attached. She told me she was speechless. I was smiling while walking home, despite having that moment being the last one. It was nice.

Just for fun, I opened up her ex’s FB and saw a recently uploaded album of their memories together. Then reflecting back, we didn’t have those kinds of things. In fact, in this relationship, the only thing left to close it properly and complete the picture….was simply the two of us in a picture. :D
