At last~! I now have time to write a review for this. This Q-steer unit belongs to the QSH series where the package comes with the car, an IR remote and an upgrade part. This is QSH-05 Toyota Sprinter Trueno [AE86]
The package is almost the same as the starter ones except it comes with additional parts such as the one that comes with this unit. This Trueno comes with a Spin-tire unit and four yellow-colored pylons. Technically, it has the same goodies as the KPGC10 Skyline that was released before.
The car was indeed nice. It fashions the classic carbon fiber hood finish that you don’t get in the standard Trueno package. (QSS-12) Also, just like the starter sets, this car comes pre-equipped with batteries and can run immediately. The pylons were perfect because they were shaped proportionally to the size of the car… and they’re yellow. The previous pylons I saw were the ones from KPGC10 Skyline which were blue in color and it doesn’t really match the pylons. I think I saw red ones with the One-Mat-Circuit set but the set costs Php 1,500 so it’s quite expensive. Although with that price you can also get a set of apex curves and a start/finish banner.
I do have one problem with the Spin-tire unit. It doesn’t really spin like what the manual had demonstrated. Try to bash it around with slippery surface I kept on putting the pylons in different positions. If you try one of those methods for drifting, it was really great. Sticking a big coin at the front then perform long drifts really amazes me with the set of tires. Although while drifting, you wouldn’t like the rear tires have RED tires unless you are pretty crazy to think that the tires are burning.
I think that’s all for now. Overall it is still the same as the other ones except for the additional parts. Nevertheless, you still get great fun in a very small but jam-packed toy.
