After 3 major blows…

My PSP is still operational~! Still far from being a brick. Still as good as brand new.

My PSP had suffered body blows recently and the last one was the third blow it received. What I meant with the body blows was my PSP received several accidental drops from high grounds. The first one was quite safe than the succeeding drops because my PSP was still wearing a silicon jacket and it fell on my toe. ouch. The second and third was quite worrying. The second drop was quite high, about 3/4 meters in height and it fell down as my foot accidentally pulls the power supply cord that was plugged on my PSP. The third one was not that high but it was loud enough to make me sweat quickly. It was in school and I didn’t know that my PSP was on my lap when I stood up quick to go to my next class. It had opened the battery cover as well as the UMD port. Happily, the UMD was still reading when I borrowed my blockmate’s Splinter Cell UMD. The battery didn’t come out as well, it was intact after the drop.

Although the results of the drop was satisfying at the moment, I still cannot say that the body shell of the Slim and Lite series is reliable. The damages that my PSP obtained was not obtained on those drops but rather on… well, i cannot tell as well because I really can’t track down where the damages were received. Here’s a pic:

The parts encircled were the areas where I saw the damages. Those are cracks from the screen. At first glance, one would thought that those are just scratches but if you try to put pressure downwards, you’ll be able to feel the crack. That shows how bad the flaw of Slim and Lite’s bodyshell.

Some say I can have it replaced but if you ask me, to be honest, replacing the body shell is not the best thing to do. One, you cannot assure that the replacing shell is original. Second, your PSP will be opened by an unauthorized personel and that will only make matters worse.(Unless you are willing to spend thousands on Sony Service Center). I’ll just have to take care of this device, after all, it already helped me a lot in my second semester of my first year in college. :D

    Oh my…

Devastating! Good thing I wasn’t tempted to upgrade my bulk type to a Slim and Light. Guess a software upgrade would be my best option.
