Random pic(k)

Hahaha, I stumbled on this picture on GTRBLOG.com.

UPDATE:“For example, the Nissan GT-R will only run 118 mph more or less on city roads” – The Nissan GT-R is capable of maximum speed of nearly 200mph or to be exact, 193 mph or 310 kph.

I really liked the way Nissan made the latest Skyline. It’s not named “Skyline” but rather “GT-R” only. So it’s called “Nissan GT-R” but most enthusiasts technically considered it as the R35 Skyline GT-R, successor of the ultimate R34 GT-R. Nissan had incorporated a lot of race technologies such as dual-clutch plates, semi-auto gearbox and more. But the thing that made me impressed was the GPS and ECU (engine control unit) of the car. The GPS does the position monitoring of the car. It’s one of the features responsible for limiting the GT-R’s performance. For example, the Nissan GT-R will only run 118 mph more or less on city roads then when the GPS detects that the car is on a race track, that’s the only time that the ECU will disable the limiter of the car. Another amazing feature (which, might not be amazing for the owners) is the warranty voiding service performed by the car’s ECU itself. This was the only time I saw this feature implemented. The ECU will automatically display errors on the instrument panel and LCD and disable the warranty of the car once the owner decides to modify any part of the car, including the change of your choice of rims. Hahahah~!

The pic above was taken by a tuning firm attempting to modify the BILSTEIN shocks, stock on the Nissan GT-R, by lowering it 15 mm. Here’s the full story.
